The Amazon Research&Development Center Foundation (ARC) was born from the meeting of academic insight and practical experience. We are researchers and professionals committed to transforming knowledge into real impact, developing innovative solutions for the human, social, and environmental challenges of the Amazon.
We believe that sustainable development depends on the joint strengthening of the HDI (Human Development Index) and the HCI (Human Capital Index). Investing in health, education, housing, and income not only improves quality of life but also consolidates the foundations for lasting growth—where individual and collective progress go hand in hand.
Our work begins with field research in rural and urban communities in Amazonas, mapping their realities and needs. Based on this data, we create structural public policy laboratories that test and evaluate concrete solutions—such as the social rent program—measuring their immediate and future impacts on human development.
By uniting theory and practice, the ARC aims to produce knowledge, formulate structural public policies, and demonstrate, with a scientific basis, that human development is the central axis of a sustainable future for the Amazon and for Brazil.
